Position: Piping Designer

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate piping design and drafting activities on projects.

Technical Responsibilities
- Execution of pipeline engineering scope for assigned projects
- Pipeline alignment & crossing engineering drawing content and professional sealing of such drawings
- Review and approval of final pipeline routing analysis report including participation in routing process
- Preparation and content of pipeline materials and equipment specifications, particularly for Design Basis Memoranda
- Review of materials, equipment, and services technical bid submissions
- Review of pipeline hydraulic studies and related pipeline schematics
- Coordinate project pipeline engineering team and liaise with project pipeline drafting team
- Coordinate activities of pipeline group with other project disciplines
- Work with and mentor junior engineering and other technical staff in the pipeline discipline
- Ensure compliance with project plan and procedures
- Implement corporate quality and safety standards into the projects
- Assist with the preparation of engineering work scope and cost estimations when required
- Be familiar with industry standard quality systems and principles
- Be familiar with industry standard safety systems and principles
- Be familiar with and apply corporate policies and procedures and ensure compliance with same
Education and Qualifications
- P. Eng. – Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum 4 -10 years of pipeline design experience
- Work in the downstream oil and gas industry, particularly in Western Canada
- Familiar with CSA Z662 and ASME B31.4 and 31.8 codes and related standards
- Experience with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations
