Equinox Engineering is actively recruiting a Pipeline Project Manager to work in the Project Management / Pipeline Department on above ground flow lines (SAGD & CSS) and conventional buried pipelines. The scope of the work includes Engineering design, procurement services and construction management and support associated with the above ground and buried pipelines.
Key Skills
- Proven Above Ground Pipeline Engineering expertise and competency, in particular the installation of pipelines and associated facilities (Above Ground)
- Supervision of 5-10 other engineering staff on a project basis
- Extensive experience with pipeline system design and construction
- Lead technical role for the establishment of design specification and the procurement of equipment and piping
- Genuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff
- High level of initiative and ability to complete tasks on schedule and budget

Technical Responsibilities
- Execution of pipeline engineering scope for Above Ground Pipeline assigned projects
- Pipeline alignment & crossing engineering drawing content and professional sealing of such drawings
- Review and approval of final pipeline route analysis report including participation in route development and survey review
- Preparation and content of pipeline materials and equipment specifications, particularly for Design Basis Memoranda
- Review of materials, equipment, and services technical bid submissions
- Review of pipeline hydraulic studies and related pipeline schematics
- Coordinate engineering team and liaise with design & drafting team
- Coordinate activities of pipeline division with other project disciplines
- Work with and mentor junior engineering and other technical staff in the pipeline discipline
- Ensure compliance with project plan and procedures
- Implement corporate quality and safety standards into the projects
- Assist with the preparation of engineering work scope and cost estimations when required
- Be familiar with industry standard quality & safety systems and principles
- Be familiar with and apply corporate policies and procedures and ensure compliance with same
Education and Qualifications
- P. Eng. – Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. EPCM Environment
- Minimum 10-15 years of Agove Ground pipeline design and/or project management experience
- Work in the downstream oil and gas industry, particularly in Western Canada
- Familiar with CSA Z662 and ASME B31.4 and 31.8 codes and related standards
- Experience with various Canadian regulatory jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations
