Job Title: Regulatory Technician (Secondment to Client)

Location: Calgary Alberta

Key Skills

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for oil and gas well licensing and reporting in BC and Alberta
  • Must have familiarity and expertise relative to all applicable statutes and regulations impacting well licensing and reporting in Alberta and BC.

  • Experienced with multiple regulators.

Overall requirement of position will to be to support the 2023 well licensing and well reporting programs for Alberta British Columbia assets. Applicants shall be qualified in well licensing and reporting for Alberta and British Columbia, with experience in drilling operations, completions, well interventions, abandonments. Will be responsible for analyzing and submitting well licensing applications, including amendments, revisions, cancellations, re-entries and resumptions. Will also be responsible for any audits from the AER or the BCER. The reporting role consists of the analysis and submission of all regulatory downhole operations.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Licensing all wells according to the appropriate government regulations to the AER and BCER.
  • Preparation and submission of regulatory audit documentation.
  • Maintain, manage, and track all well licensing workflow.
  • Collaborate with drilling, completions, and well servicing to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Submission of drilling, completions, and well servicing data to the AER and BCER.
  • Ensure accurate data collection for daily drilling, completions, well servicing and abandonment activity.

Education and Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate will have post-secondary education, preferably Business or Engineering related.
  • Should possess a minimum 5 years oil and gas experience.
  • Must be expert on applicable Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, Directives, etc. applicable to well licensing and reporting in Alberta and BC.
